Submission guidelines

All submissions must include a cover page with your name, email, university, and title(s) of your work. For all written submissions, include the form of your work. For all photography and artwork, include your name, title, date, medium and dimensions of your work (in that order, please).

Attach each submission as a separate file in the same email.

Text submissions should be double-spaced in 12 point font as a .docx. If you need custom spacing, submit as a .pdf.

Traditional artwork can be submitted as high-resolution PNG/JPEGs or scanned PDFs. Submit any digital artwork as a PNG/JPEG or .mp4.

We welcome mixed-genre and experimental pieces!

    • Submit up to 3 prose pieces.

    • No more than 15 pages per submission. 

    Includes:

    • Travel writing.

    • Nonfiction and creative nonfiction.

    • Memoir and personal essay.

    • Place-based fiction.

    • Journal and diary entries.

    • Submit up to 5 poems.

    • We accept all forms of poetry, including free verse, illustrated poetry, etc.

    • Submit up to 10 photos.

    • Submit in the highest quality – JPEGS only.

    • Submit up to 10 art pieces.

    • Includes:

      • Studio and experimental art.

      • Mixed media.

      • Graphic design.

      • Comics and graphic narratives.

    • Submit as JPEGS in the highest quality.

    • Submit up to 3 videos with clear audio and video.

    • No more than 10 minutes per submission.

    • Includes:

      • Travel vlogs.

      • Video diaries.

      • Aerial/drone footage.

      • Animation.

      • Documentary-style videos and short films.

    • Provide a description of your video in about 100 words and a transcription of any audio.

    • Email a compressed file or a link to the video with your title page.
