Stuck Having American Dreams

Every night we lie in bed, dreaming of a better tomorrow; 

hoping that tomorrow is the day everything goes right like they told us it would. 

We convinced ourselves that opportunity is a gift of freedom; 

but if that is true, why are we up all night, every night, asking ourselves: 

when did the American Dream become escaping?
